The line is the LBMA Silver Price benchmark, the daily price the world's bullion market settles on, published in US dollars and available back to 1968. The dashed line and the figure above are the current live spot price, so you can see where today sits against any point in the past. CAD figures convert each day at that day's Bank of Canada USD/CAD noon rate, which the Bank publishes from January 2017 onward — earlier dates are shown in USD only. These are market benchmarks for information, not our buying or selling price.
